Hi all,
Well we visited there last July/August. The queuing time in general was about 20-30mins at Dreamworld for the hairier rides. About 15 mins at Seaworld and Movieworld. But well worth the wait at all of them. I think though that the queuing times would be a lot longer during the Oz summer season though. Just a guess, but going by the theme parks here,I may be right. I live very close to Chessington World of Aventures and I know only too well what that's like in the summer!

P.S.Sorry, forgot to mention that it's been about 20 years since I've been to Florida and only the Magic Kingdom was there then (No Epcot, Universal etc), so can't really comment on how they compare with the Gold Coast theme parks, but they really are well worth a visit.
Enjoy!

Hi

We have got two boys 9 and 10 and we were a bit worried that Australian parks wouldn't be as good as Florida. As a family we are ride mad, we love them all and had been to Florida 3 times. The gold coast parks are great, there is one ride in Dreamworld ' The Claw', :scared: it is the best ride we have ever been on. Scooby Doo ride is good in Movieworld and we were the star family for the day, which was a bit embarrassing as we had to open the park that day, but we did get the best seats in the shows and some other freebies.

Thumbs up for the Australian parks.

You can buy a 3-park pass for MW,SW and WW for $158 (Adults) and $100 (Children), but it's cheaper if you buy online. These tickets must be used up within 14 days.
The individual parks also do annual tickets at various prices. One of them is only double the single day admisssion price.

Annual ticket prices here:

Movieworld

Was expecting a drunken reply, wasn't a very good night then

Anything else you'd recommend for 10 year olds around Brisbane/Gold Coast? Has anyone done the Aqua Bus thingy (can't remember what it's called sorry).

Hi again!

It was a good night, except that I ended up driving. Therefore, not good to get drunk!

Other things to do could include a day out at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on the Gold Coast. Loads of animals running free and you can hand feed them. You can have your photo taken with a baby croc (Has it's mouth taped up fortunately!). There's a little train that runs right round the park. There are Aboriginal dance displays, and you can feed thousands of beautiful lorikeets with bowls of some sort of sweet milky stuff. Brill!
The beach at Southbank in Brisbane city is great and safe for kids.
You can travel up and down the Brisbane river on board the Kookaburra River Queen which is a lovely old paddle steamer. You can have lunch on board (Recommended), and the staff let kids have a go at steering the boat. (Well, the kids think that's what they are doing, but the staff actually have full control!).
If money and time allow, then maybe think about going over to Moreton Island to hand feed wild dolphins at the Tangalooma Resort. You will need to be a resident at the resort (even just for 1 night) to do this but it's not that expensive and a real experience for kids (and adults) of all ages.
Also on the island there is Sand Tobogganing and Quad Biking.

Can't help you with the Aqua Duck thingy though. Sorry!

We did Movie world and Sea world with our 2 teenagers, aged 13 and 16 at the time. I agree with the ealier poster about Police academy show, the warm up guy was brillliant and the show well done.
They enjoyed both, very similar to US theme parks without the huge crowds . No bad queuing and we were there during christmas hols.
Get there early, Take lots of drinks, sun lotion and a brolly to shade from sun , (just in case you end up sitting in full sun at the shows!) .
