Re: gold coast or bayside
It looks like Bayside for us. I just searched the two main recruitment agencies in my field for jobs and found 38 jobs in Brizzie (most very low ranking too) and not one in the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or elsewhere in Qld. By comparision, looking at our original two choices, there are 44 in Adelaide (and many more near my level) and 200 in Melbourne.

I am prepared to work for significantly less than I am used to (even after taking into account Aussie cost of living) and will also compromise on the sort of role but I need to be looking at Finance Manager level at least to stop my brain turning to mush.

Mmm see what you mean, but surely if you took on contracts for different companies, you could have some time off inbetween contracts, sorry hun, im all for being self employed, keep trying to persuade gary to do a similar sort of thing, but its just taking that plunge isnt it.
tracey.TE=worzel]It is possible. But one of the reasons for going out there is for a more chilled-out lifestyle. Setting up a new business won't do that for me :scared: I want a nice little 9 to 5 with no stress and enough money to just be comfortable. [/QUOTE]

I am half way there now. I have been contracting since I got back from our extended hols down under. Its a bit weird though as my 5 month contract has been extended 4 times since and I am still at the same place 18 months on. They have even set me up as an employee of a dummy company so I can get some tax breaks. I am quite happy doing the same out there but it still relies on agencies finding me the placement. I can't just call up old friends and colleagues like I did to get this job as I will be Johnny no mates over there. I have been given a contact in London who specialises in overseas recruitment so I will contact her and see what she can tell me. In the UK at least, these temporary assignments tend not to be advertised as they need filling within days once they arise. So there could be a whole set of opportunities I am not aware off. Cross your fingers for me!

Hi Worzel
I am up for that! $billion is fine but I would certainly settle for less..........but of course not on the basis of a 80:20 split of profit....
