Me and my partner are hoping to apply for visa soon. Does anybody know whether there is a mimimum time for doing this before starting the course? We hope to go out there about 6 weeks before the course starts to find rentals etc. Does anybody know whether we would have to get a ETA visa to do this or does the student visa allow you entry before the course starts?:)

Hey

I am on the same course as you, starting Jan 28th. I am flying out on Jan 8th to stay with a friend and will spend the time before the course looking for accomodation. This shouldn't be a problem but I have been told that you cannot be actively seeking work before the course starts. Would be interesting to hear if anyone has any different experiances though.
