Re: Going Home
Originally posted by karawara88 Sorry Sue, it was a generalised and unfair comment. It was mainly aimed at car salesman. Although we have experienced same attitudes from other sales people here. I too have read your adventures and hope you have all the luck back in the UK......I really admire you coming back on 'expats' and 'finishing' the story in Aus. We are here and still trying 14 months temp visa - coming up 1 year PR. We are going to stay for now because Hubby is enjoying himself, kids are settled in school, now 13 and 11. I am not that happy.........but I am enjoying the adventure! On the point above - car salesmen......I hope you are generalising about the WA british salesmen, it was the only job my husband got after 5 months here in NSW, he is still in it 14 months on and working hard not to be a pratt. He only gets one weekend off a month (part of the issue I have staying here - bugger the more time with family crap you hear!) He works hard not bullshitting people but the only way he makes above living salary is selling. Lucky for us I transfered my UK job to here (on less money of course). I have really enjoyed this thread - real life! Again - wish you all the best, if you make it before you go to Sydney, I have room in my drive for a camper! Cheers Sandra |
thanks for the info:)

Good luck back in the UK (or wherever you settle). Life's too short to stay somewhere that you're unhappy. At least you gave it your best shot, and will never be in the position of saying 'If only...' I admire you for having the guts to try every avenue before accepting that Oz is not for you, rather than just sitting in one place and letting the world come to you. Well done.
All the best. :) |
