Default Going to the Dogs

Going to the dogs is underrated, its actually a very fun night out!

I reckon the reason so many people are moving to the other side of the world and elsewhere comes down to one simple fact.

The UK is the 4th most densely populated country on the planet, 60 million squeezed onto a titch little Island. From over population comes a host of issues that give reason for emigration ie. to much traffic, expensive housing, to many laws - to maintain some order, pollution, strain on NHS schools etc. Its like rats in a sack.

I have an ingenius solution to make less people leave their homeland in a huff.

1. A mega strict border force.
2. New cities in the far north of scotland, the population is to weighted towards the south. And a hong kong style development on one of the western isles.
3. Buy a chunk of the Western Sahara to enlarge our countries living space, perhaps build an underwater motorway to get there.
4. Consider invading Norway, after all they invaded us, they have a HUGE country and only 4 million people, its just plain greedy.
5. Bring back the birch and noose.
6. Bring Army back from Iraq and Afghanistan and put them to good use, capture all ILLEGAL immigrants est. up to 1 million and send them home, they are not required and nobody apart from a few lefties want them here, as we have just had 600,000 poles move here in the last 2 years. Who are here legally to do jobs etc. and were expecting a few hundred thousand Bulgarians and Romanians here next Jan (when they can move here).

A couple of questions, is it easier to pass a driving test in Oz than the UK and also, did anyone move there secretly to be as far away as possible from their families, despite pretending to them that they would really miss them?

Some good ideas.

It's not rocket science to protect the UK's borders. A few hundred troops at key ports & the tunnel would do it. Thing is mass immigration is part of the Blair/Brown masterplan for the UK. They want all the kids to go to university so need low cost workers to do all the jobs that graduates will not do.
There is too much emphasis on the South East of England. More development is needed in Scotland & the North. Expand Inverness to a 2-3 milion city with a couple of nuke power stations as well. Aberdeen should be doubled, even tripled in size, same for Newcastle. Give comapnies massive tax breaks to move there.
Death penalty for terrorists, murders & rapists would be good too.
Romania & Bulgaria have not been let into the EU yet, 2008 is the date I think. Government has not said if they are going to be let into the UK. Could be an election losing issue for them.

The further I can get away from my family the better.

To reduce the strain on the UK's resources the Government could apply the same immigration criteria to people born in the UK as to those who immigrate legally. All those that fail have to move to France. That should sort out the wheat from the chaff.

It's mainly far right wing with a few slightly left wing views thrown in.

It's probably strange that I like it here here as this a socialist country & I hate socialism.

I admit to confusion.

12th thread this week saying 600 poles arrived in UK, OK but other thread says 5 million poms left.

RIght so is the UK getting less crowded or more crowded.

Does anyone have the NET migration figures for the UK and for OZ, that is how many left the UK/OZ and how many arrived in UK/OZ (preferably not the daily mail ones). Its getting so dramatic on here its a bit hard to know whats really going on.

I think nearly all of the Poles going to the UK do not want to settle there & plan to go back to Poland when they have made some money. Uk gives them an opportunity to better themselves. The 2 Polish guys who built my extension only used to fly over to the Uk when they had a job on. They said that their lifestyle in Poland was far better than what they could have in the UK, helped by a wedge of GBP no doubt.

Seems net migration is INTO the UK

http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?id=1311

So more people are choosing to enter and live in the UK than are choosing to leave. Perhaps its not so bad after all.

What are the entry requirements to get into Poland, I might go and live there. Will I get a free flat screen TV like I do if I go to the UK?

I seem to remember seeing a figure of only about 250,000 Brits leaving the UK each year. It's related to approx 25,000 people viewing various overseas property shows which were held in the UK last year. Does anyone have any definite figures?
