Unhappy Going back to the UK

Next Thursday I am heading back to the UK for 2 weeks. I will be staying with my parents and visiting friends and family as well as collecting son from University.

Although I am looking forward to seeing everyone I just have this awful feeling of dread and I dont know why.

We have been in Oz for almost 6 months and I love my life here. Has anyone had these kind of feelings when they took there first trip back.

Sorry to sound such a wimp but I have never felt like this before.

hiya sharon

I know that feeling well having recently returned to Perth after our first visit back to UK since we left there 2 years ago!!

All I can say is treat it as you would any holiday and as a chance to catch up with family and friends. It's also a good opportunity to confirm your feelings about where your life is heading etc.

I think the feeling of dread is for many reasons...but primarily I think it's cos you're happy here in Australia your little voice in your head is tormenting you with thoughts about missing folk....well mine did anyway. But you know what...once I was there it was great to see people, I had a fantastic time, but I knew I wanted to come back to Australia.

Have a great time, and if you wanna PM me, feel free!

love sophia xxx

FWIW: the supermarkets were FAB!! I lurved them...particularly the local ASDA as Lou & Andy of Little Britain fame were there doing a booksigning "Yeah I know!" LOL
