God that was quick!!!!!
Well our container sailed on the 9th Sept to Brisbane, we are due to arrive on the 21st October but guess what ........ Our container has beat us to it!!! :scared:
The contact we have given in Brisbane has rung us asking what should she do?? She is not actually able to clear it for us but has given us the email address of the lady who contacted her. We are awaiting an answer on what to do next!!!
Anyone else experienced this?

Can't answer your question lass, but just want to say we are off tommorrow to the Gold Coast, you're a week behind us, looking forward to any meet ups that will be going on soon!!! We need them, cos are billy no mates when we get off the plane in brissy on friday morning. :scared:

Personally I would not worry about the fact that you are not here. We arrived on the 17th July, container arrived on the 15th July. I know its only 2 days, but we did not see it for a further 2 weeks, with it having to clear customs.
I believe that it will take at least 2 weeks, infact probably more (ours was quick as I understand it), so by the time you get here it may have cleared. They can store it for you, and I dont think that the cost is too high; speak to your shipper.
Look forward to seeing you in sunny Qld.

Yes, we had the same problem. Our container left on 12th August and arrived in Oz 9th September. In all, it took 35 days to get here and clear customs.
We moved with Bishop's/Kent's so it's only a problem in terms of the inconvenience of being without our stuff as the contents of the container are in storage.
We just need to find somewhere to live now...

Just wanted to say good Luck.
We were in the same position last week and were def billy no mates when we stepped of the plane in Brissy last Friday, still are
but am sure that will change once we have jobs and kids at school etc because I really cant get over how friendly and helpful the people have been that we have come into contact with.Have a great trip! you are lucky you are flying this Friday and not last, we had to circle Brisbane for 2 hours because a fighter jet and broken down on the runway.
