Passed my driving test today - beat Ed by 1 point ha! Definately coming Thursday nearly finished painting the lounge and not going to do the rest at any great speed! Spoke to Colleen tonight she sounds lovely too and said you were all great. Did you go to the wedding today? How was it ? I was in the garden thinking what perfect weather for it. Your husband doesn't play golf does he? Ed is so sad he is going by himself tommorrow cause he's desperate for a game. Max :) |

We bought a house before we got here so the account was opened up for us automatically. We had already opened one with the Commonwealth - not to be reccommend unless you like dealing with dimwits. When we wanted to close the account it took 4 days to get the money out of them too. Hope this helps. Max :) I'll take a look at National. Chris |
Re: Glorious WA!
Well from some of the posts in here it seems like the girls can have their pole dancing and coffee morning/arvos and us blokes can go and play with our poles on the golf course. There is way to much dust on my clubs. I am up for it any time any place, if the wife lets me that is :scared:

Re: Glorious WA!
[QUOTE=maxpaxx]Hi everyone,
Been living here two weeks now. Don't give a stuff what drivel has been on here about Perth - it's fantastic, the people are lovely, it's relaxed and life is a lot more enjoyable. It is hard for me to understand the posts on here describing it as dull & boring - too many things to do wouldn't know where to start. We originally planned to stay in Subiacio for 3 weeks but on arrival it hadn't been cleaned - even this wasn't enough to piss me off and thats very strange! We stayed there for a week as it was great to be so central and to get our feel of the city before we moved out into the suburbs. When I told the owner we wouldn't be staying she was so lovely it made me feel really bad. It turned out that the cleaner had been ill and not told her. Anyway as you know we already bought a place in Iluka before we came out all the doom and gloom merchants who advised against buying as a crash was looming - glad we ignored you! (no disrespect intended). The house has gone up in value to an extent that we hadn't expected in a million years. Well we are still leasing that one out to the builders till at least May so we have bought another one in Merriwa - funny place but the streets nice. Apparently it's the place to buy investment properties. Walked in off the street as it was an open home and it was empty so asked the agent if we could move in immediately and rent it. So that's what we have done for $100 a week. (saw loads that were empty too if that is anyones idea). It's a little odd living in an area where you have no intention of staying but it's so near to everything up here. Anyway so that's where we are - I am up to my eyes in Paint as the whole place has been done in suede effect red, blue and orange - migrane recipe. Lots of things seem quite old fashioned and some seem so much better than home. Not having a great deal of luck on the kindergarton front - the one we wanted has a years waiting list! But loads and loads of things to do for kids and called the department of education and they were so bloody helpful like everyone here it's so refreshing. Visited good old Ikea a few times - it's so dinky like a teeny version of the UK but has everything you need. On the shipping front our TV was smashed. Bought 2 flat screen TV's here for £400 in 'Good Guys'..yes thats £400! The insurance assessors are coming Friday - that's service for you. Take your insurance out with Letton Percival - they are cheap and really quick to sort things out. One thing we hadn't realised is that we can only spend $1000 per day on our bank card - not really convenient and to my mind the banks way of ensuring you get a credit card. Really can't see how you could live here without one very easily. Have to say the National bank are really great too - we have a personal banker who deals with everything for us - would reccommend them. Had a pay as you go mobile here but it was pricey so now signed up for one $25 a month. LOVE IT..and life would be perfect if only someone could send me a packet of Richmond sausages.....mmmmmmm hi doing this all wrong sorry new 2 all this.Just interested in more info on letton percival insurance,what are they like when you had to claim.I spoke to them today seem good. Any info would be helpful many thanks pete & laura |
Re: Glorious WA!
Hello,
it's nice to hear how well people are getting on in Perth! Could you give us any info on Letton percival, how were they dealing with claims, we are thinking of using them, but have read some threads with people worried about using them. It sounds like the terms and conditions are wishy washy compared to other companies. Any info on how they dealt with your claim would be great. Thanks Pete & Laura |
