I don't think anyone knowingly posts information that is untrue; people post from the best of their knowledge, which may not reflect recent changes. Not so long ago it was not possible to take the passports up to London, they had to be posted.
If the situation has changed then that's great, and future advice can be based on that up-to-date info.

While I guess thats the nature of open forums, most posters will qualify replies if they are not sure whereas a straight "no" implies that the poster has direct knowledge to back their asertion up.
