Default getting a start as a pipe fitter in australia.

we are here in qld but location is not an issue if anyone can tell us where there is some work and who is currently hiring.

hubby has 25 years in pipe fitter welding and instrumentation, but has no petrochem or oil industry experience apart from oil tanks, under ground oil lines and oil fired industrial boilers.

can anyone tell us how to get a start I have seen jobs advertised and have applied, but wonder if lack of australian exp and industry exp is putting people off.

Doesn't even have to be petrochem or oil industry just anything.

there must be some shutdowns happening somewhere that people know about.

I have directly approcahed companies but no response except for one.

any help would be great

thank you
