from someone who has been homeless there are loads of people who drink themselves to death but don't have as much money or the privileged lifestyle he had.

The man was touched by god & chose to piss it against a wall, he had a talent few will ever be blessed with, at one time he reached the pinnacle of a sport adored & watched by millions.
He chose his own path, and here it ends.

Re: George Best
Still ...
He did tell the greatest story ever told ...
As he sat in the penthouse of the finest 5* hotel London had to offer, the bed covered in thousands of pounds won earlier that night in the casino and the then current Miss World lying there in a state of undress on his bed the hotel bellboy entered the room ...
"Mr Best ... Where did it all go wrong ?"
Every boys dream.
He lived it.

Re: George Best
George Best was before my time, however in my book...
he's an arsehole.
He wasted two liver transplants,
he's a wife beater,
he's a quitter,
he's a drunk,
yet some people (the British media) immortalise him...
he's a prick.

I reckon his playing career couldnt have went on longer than it did. So he didnt really p*ss his talent away as such.
Re: some of his other antics I agree fully
What I will say regards him getting two liver transplants is that it could be said , through a lot of charity work he did (and he did !) he provided a huge amount of money that saved a lot of lives too.....

Re: George Best
Unless we sign a striker with pace and a ball winning midfielder in the January window I'm afraid to say you're right ...
We are the third worst side in that league behind Sunderland and Pompey.
All very worrying ...
Bring back Kendall ... !!!

Proabably living it up in Formby.
Sam used to teach with his daughter...but that was years ago...weird how some people just drop out of the media gaze.
