Yup, that's the geckos.
I love our geckos - our population was decimated when we got a kitten but he's getting older and lazier now so there has been a rise in numbers lately. My husband has just got home from work and has taken me out to see some gecko shit - I now know what it looks like and will take a photo for anyone interested tomorrow ... The things us newlyweds get up to !! :o  |

Little black specks (like fine tea leaf grounds) are Cockroach pooh, you will find it especially in corners and along wall parameters......get up in the middle of the night and switch on the lights to see the culprits. Strangely enough there is absolutely no taboo about having cockroaches here....or head-lice on the kids......or fleas on the dog come to think. Your very much in the grip of Nature here and insects rule! Back to the Gecko shit :p Geckos have two types of pooh (I'm pretty sure on this)....on the walls where they run,you get like a slash of watery brown pooh, but below places where they feel secure you'll get firm droppings. The firm dropping look much like mouse pooh, the only difference being a chalky white section on one end. Happy pooh examining people! :D |

Re: Gecko shit
 This is the second thread on geckos in as many weeks.
Unless the Asian diet leads to different poo, it's like a 1cm-ish bar (can't think of a better word) of mid-brown dried sludge. There you go, much clearer now, I'm sure. Geckos do make a noise; in Singapore they're also known as "chichak" (Malay word being "cicak") because of their sound. |

Happy pooh examining people! :D I did check last night in the loo which has the light left on at night for kids which is where most of it appears. At least some of it is actually some type of really tiny insect. close examination showed legs poking out of the black spots! |

Re: Gecko shit
We seem to get stick insects. They are BIG like most bugs in Oz and as long as my hand and at least the width of my little fingure. I couldn't make out what it was so asked my neighbour who's an Ozzy.
It's body had like scales on it and as I say it was huge. |
