What about hibiscus?
Also, is Perth alright for daffodils or will I have to dig them up each year and stick them in the fridge (can't be bothered with that!)?
BTW Those waterwise crystals are fab!!!

Most types of softwood cuttings will take using rooting powder, but some are more difficult than others. Generally the easiest are various climbers and any 'vigorous' species. Just remember to keep them wet, but not waterlogged, and most species will need to be kept under plastic.

You can grow them in the UK against a South facing wall, so I guess the answer would be yes. But I don't know if you could grow a large tree or not.

Just had to say what a beautiful driveway you have Wol. Did you plant everything, or just the Hydrangeas ?

Love this thread - got lots of tips from everyone, thanks.

I just posted it to show how vigorous plants grown from cuttings can be! Damned things needed excessive maintenance, having to be cut back every year but the display was graet.

Thanks - are the figs edible do you know (have you tasted any "windfalls" ). Sometimes if figs are grown in cooler climates the fruit are not too successful.

Cheers

Hiya
Keep them in the pots and don't put them directly underground, they are very vigorous and spread throughout your garden really fast. Sounds yum though!
