Hi

Sorry I meant by the rule changes in January which meant everyone who is waiting for a 175 and isn't on the CSL, has had there visa application put on hold for an indeterminate amount of time until IMMI decide to process them. If your on the CSL isn't not an issue, but we people like me who are regular 175 its a nightmare!

Guys.

We all know the UK is in the Doo Doo.

And everyone in here that is wishing for the Pound to Strengthen against the Dollar are those that are still in the UK.
Now if this were to happen its likely to be due to a worsening situation in Aus, not a strengthening of the UK Economy.

Therefore, you are wishing the same fate upon the Aus Economy, and this is your destination for a better life.

The reason the £ is shocking is because UK is in trouble, lets hope Aus doesn't get so bad. If you take a hit on currency, at least you will have a decent economy when you get here

I reckon we're all better playing 2-up with the money, probably better odds of getting it right.

Did my transfer earlier today, thankfully before it went down again.

Transfered £15k with HiFx and have to say they were pretty good, made it all very simple to follow on there website after the phone call to lock in the deal.

At least I can stop watching those bloody FX charts for a while now

The USD has a major affect on AUD. GBP has improved somewhat against USD but AUD has strengthened against USD. This is affecting GBP against AUD.

Ozforex are quoting 1.99 now.....

Sigh.

Such a joy when you're living in Oz and paid in pounds.

Well that's what happens when the Government\Bank of England decided to start printing money (quantitive easing) each pound misteriously becomes worth less when compaired to other currencies and commodities such as gold, oil etc etc. On the up side it should stimulate exports.

Good luck to everyone else waiting to change!

Well bad news guys.
The official bank tradings rate has, in the last 5 minutes, broken the 2:1 glass ceiling that existed for years. To my memory thi shasn't happened before, at least not in a very long time.
I reckon that now this psychological barrier has been broken we could see a signiifcant shift with the AUD growing even stronger against GBP.

Just me tuppence worth. I now consider myself very lucky I changed when I did.

Certainly a critical psychological barrier.
It really was inevitable though given the state of the UK economy.

I don't see it stopping there either to be honest.
