Hi

We arrived in Sydney just over a month ago and had to do a similar thing to you although we had 2 weeks. We found alot of furniture shops on the Pacific Highway around St Leonards and Crows Nest.

Also some big shopping centres near the Airport/ East. There is an Ikea in the Supa Centre near Moore Park and lots of other shops in the same centre. Another place we found was on O'Riordon St towards the Airport. It's a big mall with only furniture and electrical stores inside. I can't remember the name of it but head down that way and you are sure to find it.

The only problem we found is that we had to wait up to a week or more (for Sofa's particularly) for it all to be delivered to us. Make sure you buy an airbed when you arrive as you might not fancy sleeping on the floor!

Hope that's useful!

There is another furniture supacentre on the Parramatta road in Auburn and a larger IKEA is opening on Homebush Bay drive in Rhodes. There is also a large Harvey Norman and a Myers megamart and some other furniture shops there in Auburn.

The Megamart in Auburn was able to deliver the bed we wanted in the same week.

We bought bits all over which I why I suggest hitting one of the supacentres. They contain a few furniture shops and other stuff.
