Default Furniture stores

I'm going to be needing to buy beds, a sofa and dining table and chairs whenI get out to Sydney in Jan.
Are there any chains like DFS or argos or can anyone recommend any good websites to look at for these things?
I know there is Ikea but I don't always like their styles....
Grateful for any advice!

Just "bumping" this one as I would be interested in this too but in the Brisbane area.

There are areas of Sydney where you can probably walk down the street, in and out of stores, until you get everything you need.

Our closest is the Pacific Highway between St Leonards and Crows Nest. Manly Vale is another. Moore Park Supacentre on the other side of the harbour, IMHO not much cop.

(All of the above have a Freedom, too. )

You will find lots of furniture stores in Sydney - I bought some furniture from a couple of stores there in Jan

Lots of choice and competition and bargins to be found if you shop around and haggle.

You might find it easier to go to the stores than shop on the internet. I am a fan of Freedom Furniture though they are a bit more expensive imo

Your mistake is in expecting Australian retail giants to have decent websites, Helen.

HN does furniture; not sure if all stores stock it but I think you can search for relevant ones on the site.
