Hi all.

Does anyone know of popular shops in Oz that sell furniture/white goods etc. Places that have a good online store.

Ive found a couple (ikea and betta), just wondering if there are any more.

Im trying to look at furniture prices and see how much i might need to budget for it.

But what is a good quality brand of washing machine, freezer fridge, dishwasher, don't want cheap tacky stuff, i.e. a noisy fridge, rattly washing machine etc,

For household electricals, try 'Retovision', they are really good for white goods and TV's videos etc. Dont know about online shopping, but if you go in any of their branches, they will give you discount if you buy a few items, and if you buy larger goods like fridges tv's etc, the discount will be huge! well worth checking out!

There is also JB Hi-Fi and Good Guys here in Melbourne, not sure if they have branches in other places.

Also here they have 'The Trading post' a paper like The Exchange and Mart in UK. you can get really good second hand/nearly new goods in there. We bought a beautiful 'as new' Dining Table and 8 chairs from there, for a fraction of the price of a shop new one!

big sellers here are FISHER /PAYKEL ,good w/machines , freezers ,fridges , n,z made KELVINATOR ,w/machines , fridges freezers , reasonable ., oz, made WHIRLPOOL [MALLEYS ]EMAIL WESTING HOUSE ,FRIDGES FREEZERS , we have had problems with ours on the seals , SIMPSON ,W/MACHINES ,DRYERS local made good top loaders for the oz market , reckon next year they will bring out a top loader with a 4a rating , same as front loaders ,euro machines , front loaders ASKO, MEILE , BENDIX , and some i can,t even pronounce , getting good service on these could be a problem so go back to the dealer, big trend in oz at the moment for stainless steel fronts , on fridges and dish washers , the only problem is one little dent on stainless and it stands out like "dogs balls"..............MM
