Furniture arrived at last!!!! PSS
Well, it is nearly 11 weeks since we saw all our furniture, and it finally arrived yesterday.
Supposed to take 5-7 weeks but took longer. God, it felt like christmas. Infact we opened every box to see what was in them. Son now has his bike and stuff so that will get him out of my hair.
Our shippers were PSS and although it was late arriving, the only thing damaged was the handle off a plastic storage box, you know, the sort the kids put their toys in.
They gave me a copy of the inventory that was done in the UK and asked me to tick off each box as it came into the house, each box has a number on it. I then directed them to where to put it. They unpacked all big furniture and put it into place. We said we will unpack the boxes as there are lots of bits and bobs in them. NOTE, I wrote 'subject to inspect boxes and unpack' on the paperwork. They took all the wrapping with them. Note however, they forgot to include 3 items on the inventory in the uk, one of them was our very large and expensive leather sofa!
I don't think we will unpack every box as we are in rental and may move again. We are going to flat pack the boxed that have been emptied and tie them up and put the to one side. That way we will have boxes for when we move out of rental.
Hubbie went to the electical place on the way home from work and brought a box of 10 australian plugs for $30 to start with. Ever so easy to put on.
We brought our large Toshiba wide screen t.v and it works as treat!!! We have all the channels etc. We had to play around with it but it only took about 45 mins to set up channels, sound etc.
Brought the fridge and freezer which were about 4 years old.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you know how things went.

hi mandy,
glad to hear everything got there in one piece. my stuff should be on it's way through customs in sydney as we speak. i used PSS for mine and was quoted 5-7 weeks travel 2 - 3 weeks til delivery. Still glad to hear they got there for you.
