Fuel- unleaded & diesel
May be a stupid question, but is diesel readly available at all garages or is it all unleaded.

I have never not been able to get diesel . Its more common in remote areas IMO.

Diesel is not as popular as it is in the UK but you can get it pretty much anywhere. In alpine areas you can get Alpine Diesel for the winter months. In petrol sniffing areas you get a petrol substitute. You can also get petrol which contains certain amounts of ethanol.

Quite the reverse. In outback Australia Diesel is all you can get in some filling stations. I've never seen a servo where they don't have diesel.

Diesel is much cheaper than ULP at the moment. Filled up yesterday at my normal place in High Wycombe. B20 was 117.9l and ULP was 129.9.

One thing to watch out for is a few garages only have the fast flow diesel pumps - the one with the larger nozzle - which does not fit in all cars.

Re: Fuel- unleaded & diesel
One snag I've found with ULP is my car is only supposed to run on 98 RON fuel. This can be hard to find in country WA (but 95 RON is ok for short intervals). Its not something I checked when I bought the car but luckily my closest garage sells the 98.

The further out you go, the more they rely on diesel. Some farmers will also have private fuel reservoirs; one of my mates in Cadoux has his own pumping station for ULP vehicles.
