Front loading meds do we ? don't we ?
Bearing in mind that the ASPC do not seem to be moving very quickly. In anyones opinion would it be a good idea to get the meds done and sent so that by the time they do get to our file we could get an automatic VISA grant. Without any further waiting.
Agent has advised to wait until requested, this makes me think that cos you have passed the TRA and we are 136 MODL there is a possibility that the ASPC might not be happy with the app.
Anyone hear of apps being refused even though the TRA passed and 136 MODL. What makes a fool proof VISA app??????
Really don't wanna waste £800 but also want that VISA NOW!!
Cheers guys for any feedback

Hi
We front loaded PCC check as we needed dates etc on OH's little D&D's from when he where a lad.
We also front loaded our medicals as soon as we got visa app acknowledgement - this was also at agents advice - as OH is Type 1 Diabetic and was advised more than likely need specialist reports, which we did and processed them on request.
We then got a call in the morning (very early) from Agent saying we have visa - no notice of CO allocated or LCU processed or anything. However we have cut down our validation time considerably - we have to be in oz prior to 24/03/06 - this doesnt cause us any problems as we are aiming to move end of October / Mid November.
time line:
136 Skilled Independent (MODL)
04/04/06 – TRA lodged
26/04/06 – TRA received
03/05/06 – Visa lodged
16/05/06 – Visa app acknowledged
24/05/06 – Medicals done
16/06/06 – requested further medical tests
12/07/06 – specialist medical tests
21/07/06 – test results sent to LCU
16/08/06 – Visa Granted!!!!
It is your choice - I say go for it.
Paula

Re: Front loading meds do we ? don't we ?
Hi Tracey
We're in the same boat as you it seems. Got acknowledgment just over a week ago and was wondering whether to jump the gun with the meds or not as there is a 4 week waiting list at the doc's we will be using. I don't know much about this but my Sister (JULIECABS - who leaves for the Gold Coast next Thursday) got lucky and their request turned up a couple of days before they went for the meds, but it's very hit & miss.
One thing I have discovered is that you can no longer download the form (Form 26?) from the DIMA website, there is only FORM 26A for ONshore use only. They advise that the forms for OFFshore applications will be sent by Case Officer.
Are they trying to stop people sending them in unrequested I wonder. Also, if I managed to get hold of the forms, have the meds then have them sent unrequested, what reference number do you put on or how do they know who to send them to?
Does anybody know anymore about all of this?
All help and advice greatly appreciated by a no-nothing newboy!
(BTW - We are 136 MODL (Electrician) off to Gold Coast.)

the reference number for the forms is the acknowledgement number you got from agent/DIMA.
we got our forms sent from our Agent - if using one could ask them to forward to you.

My visa was acknowledged May 25th. I'm waiting until October 6th to do my medical and I'll sort out my PCCs a few weeks before I do my medical.
My job is a non MODL.
