I have never flown very well and often have panick attacks. I get very travel sick and often spend the flight with ear plugs in and a cover over my eyes. I have never let it stop me from flying as i want to see as much as I can.

Search 'fear of flying' on amazon and you'll get a couple of audiobooks come up that involve hypnotherapy-probably alot more cost effective!:)-and you can take on flight with you. Take everything you can to make your flight more comfy-relaxing essential oil, eye mask, ear plugs, a pashmina that scented with a fave smell, Bach's Rescue Remedy (from Boots-spray on tongue when stressed) and turn up expecting your flight to be a smooth & comfortable one-dont expect the worse or you'll work yourself up. Finally a glass of fizz and keep thinking of your new exciting life!! All the best:thumbsup:

Wish they had air-nannies! Someone who would entertain them, walk them up and down the aisle every 10 seconds, take them to the toilet for the 50th time, open every carton/foil top/packet on their meal tray only for them to turn their nose up in disgust, let them lie full out all over you with a foot in your face, change the channel on the entertainment system for the 50th time in 5 minutes, calm them down when you realise you've left their favourite comforter back in the hotel/car/train .................

Re: frightened of flying!
Hi, I'm absolutely petrified of flying, even though i have flown many times on short and long haul flights it never seems to get any better.:(
I have never flown with my kids before and they have no idea that i hate flying. I have tried to keep it from them as i don't want them to end up the same as me, so i've got my Diazapam ready for when we fly out in August and will just have to put on a brave face:ohmy: Absolutely dreading it!!!! Good luck to everyone else who feels the same as i do. Nicky:thumbup: On arrival at LAX, it was thought that he'd had a stroke, because the only thing he could move were his eyelids. Through a 'rapid blinking' technique he managed to explain he'd taken something and they found the drug packet in his bag. He was strapped to a wheelie trolley and in Hanibal Lechter stylee, was rolled, drooling and blinking, off the plane whilst the rather irate passengers looked on. Several hours later, he was allowed to board another flight when he'd recovered his feeling, and was presented with a bill for a couple of thousand US dollars to cover the medics and ambulance. So be careful with those drugs. |

Finally I feel like I belong.
I hate hate hate flying. I nearly didnt get on the return flight from oz last time we were there. It was only OH telling me if I stayed I would get deported by air anyway that I went.:) I just feel in a constant state of sheer terror for the whole journey. When we arrived in Sydney last time I actually cried with relief:) Not looking forward to the fact that this time next week I will be up in the air.:unsure: |
