 Hi we need to get sensible here pets are an impotant part of the family move and the rules are very strict we put real effort in an it was 1500 for one spaniel firstly you need to understand that there are many tests and bugs not allowed in N.Z. OR A.U. and as for u.k. you will need a pet passport first to re-enter... you have been warned .I strongly recomend Golden Arrow Shippers in shorpshire they were very effiecient and what the guy there doesn't know aint worth knowing either .THEN YOU NEED A VERY GOOD Kennels in N.Z. who will fetch your dog from customs on arrival. And as for air pets they were the dearest and did the least
Mr. Sorenson(excuse spelling ) will sort you out he is based in Craven Arms. P.S. YOU WILL HAVE YOUR DOGS SENT BACK BY MAF IF THERE IS THE SLIGHTEST DOUBT OVER ANY OF YOUR PAPER WORK . chrissb

Thanks for reply, we have spoken to Golden Arrow and await a quote from them.

Re bugs and stuff, thats a prelim check via Vets, and has nothing to do with the pet carrier.
Also Pet passports dont apply one way to Australia

Also quarantine is excluded from MOST if not all shipping costs.

Pick up costs other side have also little bearing on prices quoted UK>

So really and truthfully you didnt quite get the GIST of my post :)

But thanks anyway

Hi Steve
We have been quoted between £2200 and £2400 for an Akita so that sounds about right for 4 Newfoundlands. Ridiculous though isn't it? :( Couldn't bear to leave them behind though :D

YOUR lucky they arn,t German shepards, would have cost you more. Aussie dog breeders have a very strong lobby, and i assume that 4 dogs means you are a breeder, they don,t want the competion. rather import their OWN Dogs ex-europe.............:D  MM

Just in case anyones brave enough to Self-ship , we shipped a puppy to South Africa 2 years ago.

Incidentally he is the South African CHampion :) so we are kinda proud.

We used Ryslip Kennels to Build the Export Crate for us, from whom we are awaiting a quote for our 4 Adult Newfs.

We then could get a price from BA

All in all wasnt that Involved, although VET side of things was complicated.

Hence we are looking at the possibility of exporting our 4 , DIY style

hi Timber
I got really bogged down in trying to work it out DIY, just looking to export one cat. I better start looking into it again. First thing is to get a government approved vet. Tests are more complicated for dogs. Will check out my old thread and bump it if its useful.
Good luck
Keep us posted on what you do. There isn't a lot on the site about doing it yourself, so it could be helpful to someone else in future.
