What to do with your CODE

Example Codes.

#pw+159464473736465+1#
#pw+447377566515674+2#
#pw+218935635631335+3#
#pw+418477633626674+4#
#pw+293115014153615+5#
#pw+485917300371616+6#
#pw+159364573715063+7#

There are always 7 unlock codes (One for each SimLock on the Nokia), but usually codes 1 or 5 are the only ones needed, so try them first.

What do you do now?

Now, you have your unlock code(s). Insert a SIM card into the phone, one which it does not accept, due to

being locked. It will ask for a 'Restriction Code'.
This is where you enter the provided unlock codes.

To obtain the 'p', you press the '*' key 3 times.
To obtain the 'w', you press the '*' key 4 times.
To obtain the '+', you press the '*' key 2 times.

Once the correct code has been inserted, you will get a message saying that restriction is off, and the

phone will restart. if there are no more locks closed on the handset, the phone will boot up and accept the SIM card. If there are more locks, it will still ask for Restriction code, in which case, try the next code.

This information is provided by GSM Forums have a look round their site if you get stuck.

Is this post for real?

Has anyone successfully tried this? I thought these websites normally charged around £10/15 for this?

It's for real. I unlocked a Nokia 7650 earlier today. Was on Orange, now on any network :-)

There are a few sites that have the program posted to download that generates the code. This one is obviously a web interface.

You get 5 attempts to input the unlock code. If you try without luck 5 times, that's it... you can't unlock with a code...ever. So if you try, say, 3 times without joy, then consider quitting.

The 7650 that I unlocked wouldn't accept Vodafone (or anything but Orange, but I had a Vodafone SIM). After entering the code it displayed "Restriction removed" briefly, then restarted itself, then it happily worked with the Vodafone SIM.

If you prefer to do the calculation yourself download the attached file type in your phones imei select network operator and hey presto.
Codes 1,5 or 7 usually do the trick.

For "T Mobile" use one 2 one. (code 23430)
For "Virgin Mobile" wich is not listed, the code is 23400.

You can always use the web based calc. to check your result.
