Depends what visa we get I suppose.

I go through ups and downs with the TRA.

I was on an 'up' last week, then saw agent at Sandown on Saturday and think I have put far too much info in and now I am on a downer.

(Don't worry Alan (agent), it wasn't your effect honest, I was pleased to see you actually, shame you couldnt have joined us lot on our piss up. Mind you, it would have been scary :scared: )

Anyway, I suppose the whole process is full of ups and downs isnt it?

Yes ups and downs i was lucky got my TRA and did it myself, but already had an aus licence as motor mechanic so think that helped a lot.

I would think that there is no way you can give to much info to TRA the more the better mine came back in 12 weeks good luck with yours, no pain no gain ;)

Well it was ok in 93 but it was also A$2 to the £1 so A$30,000 equaled £15,000 £2000 more than uk at the time
Now dont know but would want A$60,000 to at least match uk at the mo

Ok, well some say it's ok, others no good. At the end of the day it's a PR exersize as much as a career change so I'll have to wait and see.

Do love playing with engines and stuff tho, and am looking forward to it all :)

If you can then screw the dealer to the table mechanics like most trades are now in short supply both in uk and oz.
Hell they charge enough out front for your time !!!!!

Yeah well I drive a black cab round London at the mo and have loads of Aussies in the cab. I tell them my plan and most think i'll be rich, taking into account what they recall paying for a service and stuff back home!

Fair point, but I hear the Mechanics aint the ones who reap the rewards, well unless self employed!

Will see tho!

Though the more you have, the more you give, so the mods can knock out around 500 points of karma, so have to be selective in these things :)

really need some more karma today, I'm still in shock over the bloody huntsman DD posted on the 'migrants guide to settling in Aus' ...... phew deep breaths, deep breaths :(

Is there a limit to how much you can give and receive then? Sorry if this has been asked a million times.

There is a daily limit to how much you can give. If you've given to much it tells you you've given to much reputation and to try again after 24 hours. If you attempt to give it twice to the same person in a short space of time it'll tell you to spread it around a bit before you can give again to that person. I don't think there's a limit to how much you can recieve.
I've sent some to you.
