Foxtel or Austar? On sunshine coast, not sure if I can get both? Also, anyone know much about Tivo, is it worth it?

You may be able to get both but it's more unlikely than likely Foxtel is in the main cities and Austar (largely owned by Foxtel) runs in the other areas. However, I did get a Foxtel rep appear on my doorstep a few months ago trying to sell me his package . They show the same stuff, the only difference comes with sport and that is dependant on which state you're in - ie more Rugby League up here than in Vic.

I know nothing about Tivo.

Tivo you only get the free view channels!
It is basicly like the sky plus box, but without the sky. It records a couple of things at once, you can pause tv etc. Apparently though it does not take into account the way the tv here can start or finish 5-10 minutes before or after it should have done.
Not sure if foxtel iq also does that???
It is a lot of money for a freeview box which can record.

I have the MyStar service from Austar which means you can record one channel and watch another or record two channels. I like it and it is only $15 per month more than the ordinary decoder box.

Austar is satellite so you can get it in most inhabited parts of Oz.

Make sure you get a good deal! Free installation, no lock in contract, free box, first month viewing of ALL channels free - these are some of the ongoing deals they do so its always worth asking before saying YES - dont forget, they want your business so haggle a good package
