I have recently sent off my complete file (medicals, x-rays, police checks, correspondance, school reports) last Fri 14 Jul 06 to my agent in Aus.
As this type of Visa is so rare, I'm wondering has anyone heard of it or had any experience with it.
My file goes to a case officer/tribunal and is on a case by case basis as I was brought up in Aus.
Any thoughts/advice would help put my mind at rest

I to am going for the former resident visa. I have been in contact with people who have got it.
Look on austimelines under special visas.
Nice to know there is another one of us.

Sunshine 23,
Thanx for the reply, I'll let you know how I get on with the visa and any problems that I encounter.

Just asking what the subclass 151 is
Sunshine is it the 47SV? You must be sooo close now. I do keep checking.
I'm still gathering evidence

It's for people aged under 45 who lived in Australia as permanent residents for the majority of their childhood years but then left Australia without getting Australian citizenship.
Former members of the Australian Defence Forces may also qualify (no 45 age limit).

Hi Spud, My husband got his former resident visa earlier in the year. It took us a few months to get all the info together and even though you send all the proof etc there's a small part of you that doesn't think it's enough. As long as you meet all the criteria thats really all there is too it! Seemed easy now i think about it, wish we'd done it sooner! Your more than welcome to contact us if you need any advice or support.
Best wishes, Shirley
