It would have the same appeal as moving to Spain really. Language and cultural barriers are greater than Australia and a whole host of other issues. With a developing economy and a real risk of crime (armed robbery at traffic lights for example) and the fact that you darnt even think about going to the beach or a lot of areas a night dont exactly put it on my top list of places to goto.

I'm sure its a nice place - but I'm sure that Australia is nicer for me and my family

I am brasilian and I know Rio and definetly if you want peace, Rio is not the place you want to be!

If you want to retire, there are so many places around the world, also warm and with beaches that makes you think if it really worthes moving to Rio...

If you've got nothing else to do watch this,Ross Kemp On Gangs in Rio tonight on Sky One. I watched this episode screened on a different channel, kin hell, the gangs, the coppers!!! Nice place to live.
