To be honest with you, PB, I liked Perth as a spot to visit, but personally for us, I think it would be a little on the quiet side. My wife's from Brisbane and when we go there, she gets bored with it pretty quickly now. There are obvious comparisons btwn Bris and Perth. Then again, I met several people over there who had migrated from the UK and are very happy, so it's all down to personal preference. After all, I spent 20 years living in Blackburn, Lancashire so some would say I am no judge of a great place to live :D . The ward I used to live in in Blackburn has just elected a BNP councillor, by the way...

Yet its very quiet here and you can out grow it those who like it the most seem to be from the North east and west of England .
Sad about the BNP's rise into politics they offer little but trade on fear , you cannot make races get on but creating getto's has done no good people must be spilt into other areas the councils have done some stupid things , they have created the getto's.

Pretty fair reflection of what's happened in Blackburn and other towns in the North West of England. A rather sad contributory factor was that 60% of the electorate didn't even bother voting when faced with a very real possibility of a BNP victory, which was secured by just 16 votes with less than a third of the vote (32%).
