After searching for previous posts I get the impression a lot of you
would recommend Singpore Air!

Would you recommend Singapore as a good stopover with kids?

Ideally would like to get the longest leg of the journey over with first.

Would appreciate any advice:)

Well just tired of seeing how much people rate singapore air, we flew with them with an 11 month old, and they were rubbish, the hostesses were uncaring and the food provided for my son with special dietary needs was completely unpalatable.

We fly out to oz in two weeks and are going with qantas, maybe the hostesses will understand what we are saying and the food may be normal.

I'm sure its luck on the day which hostesses you get but just wanted to say my bit.
Rant over :o

Thanks for your reply. How long did you stay for? and did you stay in the airport or not?

We did 2 nights on our way back from our reccie (Nov 06) then 3 nights en route to Bangkok when we came over in June, then back again for 3 nights before we flew on to Sydney. We stayed at the Marina Mandarin each time - we have three kids so their family room (2 interconnecting rooms) was perfect. I found it really hard to book somewhere that would guarantee interconnecting rooms so that was the reason we chose it first time round, after that the kids begged to go back. It has a lovely rooftop pool and bar area, the staff are really good with kids and there's a great cheap food court just across the road.

Taxis in Singapore are dirt cheap so we did trips to Little India, Chinatown etc. then just jump in a taxi back to the hotel when the kids got tired.

We are flying out to Sydney in March and stopping in Singers for 2 nights, I have flown with Singapore Air before and liked their customer service albeit that was business class!! Not exactly sure where we will stay yet but certainly intend to see a couple of good sights while we are there. My wife and 3 yr old son would certainly enjoy the flight break anyway!
