Default Flights to the UK

Hello again..........

We are looking at returning to the UK for a wedding on July 4th this year and was looking to find out when would be best/cheapest to book?

Has anyone had experience of booking flights for this time of year, do you know of any airline sales coming up? Is it better to wait until nearer the time or book well in advance?

1st trip home so jus tryin to save a few cents if possible, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Flying in JULY? They are giong to bend you over and push hard I'm afraid, very tough to find a bargain in July - BUT having said that arilines are falling over themselves to try and get passengers at the moment so perhaps you'll be in luck.

General rule from Australia is booking early is usualy better than waiting - but it doesnt always apply.

Check out http://www.bestflights.com.au - they're usually a pretty good source of pricing information.

Someone else on this forum has said that Quantas are having a sale, each child is free for each full paying adult. Not sure what dates it runs to but it might be worth a look.

Guys, we're looking at booking 2 x adult returns in either September or october.

have been checking bestflights but best I've found is approx $4,200 in total. Which is EXTREMELY annoying when people are apparently getting GBP670 return, when originating in the UK.....that's approx $3,000 !

what's our best approach.... book now, or "wait and see" ?

If October suits then there is plenty of availability on Emirates at $1890, booking directly - these fares may not be available through 3rd parties.

There have been some $1500 fares available to the UK recently but it obviously depends on the season.....try Etihad and see if they are any cheaper than Emirates.

Dunno, I always go Qantas and usually get quite a competitive rate. Whichever one you go with, join their Frequent Flyer program - you never know when it might come in handy.
