Default Flights to Oz

Assuming the Aussie police actually bother to send my police check back (only been 11 weeks) I'll be booking the flights soon.

The plan is to fly from London to Adelaide with a 3 week stop off in Thailand at the end of September (one way of course). I've had one quote from Lunn Polly for £560. Any advice or tips for bargains!

Cant help with the stopover in Thailand, but....

www.ebookers.com are offering oneway LHR - ADL (flying28/09) for GPB427 with Malaysian Airlines or GBP434 with Singapore Airlines.

Seems like quite a big difference from Lunnpoly's GBP560.

Dont know how much a stopover would change the price, but might be worth contacting them.

Same situation still with the police checks mate. 10 and a half weeks gone so far.

I've been looking at flights too, and the ones you've quoted seem pretty good.

A more general question though for anyone. What's the score with three year old's? Does anyone know if you pay full price for them on planes?

Plus, the Mrs wants to get a return. I only want one way. What do most people tend to get?

0-2s pay 10% plus taxes but don't get a seat
2+s-10? (not sure about 10) pay typically 67% plus taxes and get a seat

booked our flights via ebookers ,one way to brisbane stop over in singapore free, only pay for hotel and that was so cheap especially for the standard of hotel.they also throw in free hotel transfers, free theme park tickets, meal vouchers ,boat trip. For 2 adults and 3 children(11,9,6) including taxes insurance and the aforementioned £2100 not bad!
children over 2 are charged about 2/3 of price plus taxes etc.
we searched the web but actually did the booking with a 'real person' on the phone,so we could ask lots of questions

good luck
Lara
ps we go 16 June:scared:

I'll probably book via a 'real person'. Don't think web booking is that great for one way tickets with 3 week stopovers in Thailand.

My plan is to get a Saturday paper with a decent travel section and spend a Saturday morning phoning around. It's worth it to shave a few quid off here and there. Unbelievable how much price variation there is from London to Oz.

Best wishes with the move Lara.
