Long day yesterday

Kuala Lumpur isn't a bad airport for a long transit. Especially if you take advantage of the hotel they have.

SIngapore is pretty good for lomg transit stops too. Lounges and hotel are good and the whole environment is relaxing :)

There's cheap flights on offer with Air Asia at the moment, around $150 each way Perth to KL and back again and then around £500 return KL to LHR. And for two dozen dollars more you can stop over at Langkawi for a few days

Unless I was really "strapped" for cash I would not do the Air Asia from K.L to London, its a long flight, not great leg room etc, my OH tried it once (his is a very frequent flyer for his job etc) and he said never again unless we really were on a tight budget.

Yes, I heard the planes they used for that route were cramped but they no longer do the KL to London route. Those legs of the journey would need to be done with a normal scheduled airline - whichever has the best deal at the time.

I remember when Air Asia first started flying the KL - London route, the 'big seats' were going at around AU$1,700 return. It was a good alternative for people who wanted to be able to lie down but couldn't afford business. Didn't seem to last long, though.
