Take caremats to sit on and a change of top for when that drink gets spilt (turbulence or kids take your pick).

Chat to anyone who'll listen - get in practice at making new friends and it should take your mind off things.

Otherwise doc can give you tablets - she gave me some that in theory allow you to be sensible enough to look after kids and catch the right connection but laid back enough to be an Australian.

Good luck and keep busy.

I wonder if you can do this while squeezing the hand of the passengers who's next to you .......while simultaneously throwing up in their lap

Ummm...now let me think.

Nope

I have visions from the film Airplane - I was that person whose neighbours were topping themselves! Have a good one - it's only 25 hours if you do it quick.

THanks so much - that's my first ever PMSL (I don't get out much!), what's the BTW though? - Glad I'm not the only chronic flightophobe and again, to the OP, it was far less horrible than I expected.

If the plane is going to crash (VERY unlikely) then its going to crash on take off or landing - so only panic at those times

My brother refuses to fly and will only take the ferry when going on holiday - his rationale is that "he can swim a few feet but he can't fly an inch"

Fabulous news. Bet you can't wait. I remember when we were all going through the visa application you were on this site then too. Crickey fabie....seems a long time doesn't it

And your timing is good ....cos summer will just be coming towards an end out there and starting out here .....so you've got the best of both worlds

Take it easy.... and dont work too hard for your last month

Not for me though. I know it's an irrational fear.

My son [when he was much younger] once read the disaster instructions normally kept in the pocket behind the chair in front.

He said "dont worry mum, there's an inflatable slide, a floaty jacket and a whistle if anything happens"

BIG EFFIN DEAL......I thought

Gonna be a BIG help at 23,000 bleedin feet innit :scared:
My dd was fascinated with the emergency procedures card and read it all the way from Heathrow to Sydney and on every other flight we went on. She was really keen to try out the inflatable slide...

My lovely sister is a nurse and furnishes me with a couple of diazapam for the flight! Does the trick! Only wish the husband wouldn't put 'do not disturb' stickers on my forehead(so he tells me!). Glad to know I'm entertaining the crew and other passengers!
