Hey everyone.

Looking ahead to booking our winter holiday. We love Port Douglas but want to try somewhere new. So looking at Fitzroy island - anyone got any opinions? Would there be enough to do to keep a nearly 3 year old entertained? Or are we better off sticking with PD? Anyone got any better suggestions? Need somewhere where it'll be warm enough to swim. And in Australia.

Nice place but I wouldn't stay for more than 3 days. That said, if you like sitting down and doing nothing ..... Go nuts.

Does the 3 year old like ping pong. If I recall correctly the resort had a table.

Long Island Resort in the Whitsundays, good value and very family orientated. Not 5 star but clean, comfortable and has plenty for kids to do while Mum and Dad relax by the pool (bar!!).

Thanks guys. Have decided to stick with Port Douglas mainly cos of the temperatures but also because I am like a moth to a flame with the Court House Hotel.
