I've tried red fish when we went to Doyles on the beach.....that was GORGEOUS! :cool:

....also tried barramundi, whiting and shark, which were also very nice :)

My faves are snapper and garfish.

Personally, i find fish and chips (fush n chups in NZ) in both Aus and NZ are far nicer than in UK.

I love the crispy beer batter too.
I rarely eat it as a takeawy though. Usually in a restaurant. Cant say i've had a crap one yet.

Flake is Shark and sea Perch are a very deepwater fish trawled up from huge depths away out at sea. Not really Australian.

Most Barramundi is now farmed (very similar to trout).

'Cod' is not the same fish as you would find in the UK.
