Question finding work in Oz from UK for up to 4 years (I meant)

Can anyone help? I'm moving to Queensland next year and am currently in the process of trying to find a job out there, but from the UK. So that all the interviews, processes etc would be done in the UK and the job would be set up ready for me to go.
I know I have to be sponsored but does anyone know of any agencies in the UK that specialise in this kind of thing - any handy tips etc

Why only 4 years? Is there a capped limit. What is your intention when you get over there?

I'm going over there with someone who has been offered a two and a half year posting with the army. My intention is not to migrate but to work for a few years over there, then return here. I work in the pharamceutical industry and would like to find a full time job as a medical rep or indeed transfer to the travel tourist industry.
The main thing is, I would like to organise it from the UK if that's possible.
The army will not help with visas as we are not married.

I guess you already know about de facto relationship rules etc and that's no good?

Could you clarify what you mean about "de facto relationship" rules. Sorry if that's a basic question, I'm new to this process.

Basically on certain visas, you can get the same working rights as a spouse if you can prove you are in a long term relationship i.e. been together a few years, been living together more than 12 months, got joint financial arrangements e.g. will, bank account etc..

I don't know what the exact rules are though....

Excellent, that's very helpful, I will look into that.

Any ideas or tips on getting sponsored work over there from here, I know it sounds a bit impatient but I would really like to get something sorted out before I go away.

That's really good to know that other people are in the same position. I didn't feel like I was the only one, but every other person has been over there on a holiday working visa or is actually emigrating!! We're like the black sheep. I'm actually going to take the bull by the horns and go to the embassy tomorrow morning and check out exactly what kind of visa I need!! And see if I can scrounge any other info.

Where do you want to live and what kind of work are you in?

I think checking the papers is good as there seems to be quite a lot of international jobs in there.

To be honest i am not really bothered where i go, i do like the sound of Victoria. My job is accounts which i have been doing for 2 years but i have no qualifications to go with it, but usually agencies don't require qualifications but u have better chance if u do. I have an I.T qualification and i might get more(q's) to do with my job if it will help.

Apparently for accounts there is an agency called HAYES RECRUITMENT who deal with recruitmnet in OZ.

Anyway keep me informed on how u got on and i will do the same, at the moment i am just saving up money and am doing bar work at weekends.

Nice talking to u!
