Finally......got work at last!
Took me 3 months to get work here...but finally got some! I don't have retail skills, or office skills - so finding work took a little longer than expected. For those who know me, you know I had 7 jobs in UK but could not do any of the main jobs due to not having qualifications that matched the jobs - i.e - 4 years a lecturer but no teaching qualifications and youth worker - 6 years experience of youth work in a small aspect - working with video but all qualifications in video - not youth work! But now, got a final interview for a supermarket next week - already got a fabby seasonal job at Movie World as a presenter and film work is coming in thick and fast! As well as a bit of voulunteer youth work! Just about copeing with the influx - So 3 months of nothing and then it all happened in a couple of days....whoosh! So, if your in a similar position - don't give up....just takes a while for people to realise who you are and what you do! (harket me - I'll probably have nothing now for months after all this!)

Re: Finally......got work at last!
Thanks everyone for well wishes!
Logan, shame we couldn't make it but I was not meant to go! If I had gone, I would have switched off my mobile in the cinema - and missed the call offering me a 5 day last minute shoot - as he needed to book a replacement AD immediatly. All meant to be! I'll see "The Jacket" another day - it does look intriguing!

Hi colette.........great news
We've been here 8 weeks now and i've been trying to get work for 4......but havent got anything yet. Finding it difficult to fit it round joe's school day, there's places available, for before school hours care, but there's a waiting list for after school care (end of year). is the job you're going for in school hours. Any advice on child care would be much appreciated.
and are you still having a girlie night on the 26th........let me know where it's at, will try and come.

Aw shucks....thanks guys! Honestly, we got down to our last $1.63 when hubby got work that day! Hard going at 1st here but I realize now it all just takes time, belief and meeting people, who know people, who have friends, who's next door neighbours know the person who is waiting to employ you! Networking basically!
