Death rate PER 1000 PEOPLE

Life expectancy AT BIRTH

Why so sarcastic?

I can read; i just wanted a bit of clarification. The death rate....its now been posted that its over a 12 month period...that was'nt stated originally.

Life expectancy at birth...Have a look around on the web and you will see that some quote for an expected potential age, and some give the birth survival rate.

If life expectancy at birth is 80% this means 1 in 5 babies dies??? Surely not.

Also if death rate is 10.35% in a given year this implies a life expectancy of about 100 years?

Thats exactly the part i was having problems with...I did think it might include miscarriages, but that would surely not be included in "birth" rate would it?

Whisky doesn't really give a toss one way or another, just read the thread like everyone else. Whisky doesn't let things upset her, or dish out sarcasm. Throw the shit this way, i'll catch it in my bottle.

OK...

Literacy - don`t believe it. Most Aussie kids are WAY behind their UK counterparts...

Net Migration - so more Aussies want to get out of Oz than UK citizens feel the need to depart...

Death rate - questionable, but better to live a fulfilled life than spend a longer one in interminable boredom and mundanity...

Poverty - OK, more aussies dole-bludging??? Hence higher taxation here...

This thread seems to have caused some trouble, but thats hardly suprising as you Pete Y have a habit of jumping on any of my posts.
All the statistics here are a copy from a world statistical report.
Not pie in the sky.
I dont understand why people get so worked up about things and slag off others (poor Whisky).

End of thread, I think.
