I posted this in the wrong area earlier sorry!!!


I have been browsing a few sites looking at job possibilities in Melbourne which is our preferred destination and i have a few questions!!!

I currently work as a Foreman/Site Manager and most of the relevant jobs advertised are described as Civil!! Does this mean they are commercial projects as opposed to private builds??

The wages range between $70,000 - $100,000. Is this a decent wage for Melbourne and would it be possible to live on this one wage as my wife wont be fully qualified as a refelxologist for basically another year!! However she has an ECDL and a Childcare course that she has done recently, would she be able to get a job because of these??

Also, Sponsorship, how hard is it to get this or to convince an employer/agancy to consider it???

Between 70-100k in Melbourne should do you fine. Not sure about your wife's job situation, though. She may need to do some training here to get Aussie quals, but most of us do anyway.
