Question Feecback: Notebook: Compaq Presario M2013AP

Hello Folks,
I am looking out for comment on two things if you have encountered this notebook:
1. How is HP or compaq product wise.. I want rating of products from HP?
2. How is the customer support (Onsite) experience. How prompt and how good?
3. How does this notebook appear to you.
Heres the link: http://h50025.www5.hp.com/HPCOM/broc...ario_m2000.pdf

Its sounds good price with lot of feature including bluetooth
but Infrared port missing...

I have never used HP.
Please suggest.

Dunno. I had a Compaq Presario 712 a few years ago, and it was total cr*p. But don't know this model. I've always got em from Dell since, their cs is cr*p though. But hardware is very good.

Hmmmm... that wasn't much help was it.

Sorry!

Paul

Hi there

Sorry but I didn't see the price of this laptop, Compaq are now the consumer (home user) side of HP. In general this Presario range isn't as good as the HP business range (NC6120 for instance). If a SONY laptop isn't much more I would say it is a better buy, SONY laptops are really nice and much better built than Compaq. Dell are also doing some good deals, basic laptop for £350 inc vat and delivery.
All the bells and whistles are fine if you need them (bluetooth etc), but a waste of money if you don't.
Any laptop you can buy now is more than adequate for web surfing, word processing etc. As long as it has 512MB memory it will fly along.

Kevin, Nice suggestion about that bluetooth part. But I feel you never know what technogoies are around. Wi-Fi was a buzz word 1 yr back and now its in demand. I am also aware that you can get a dongle connected to USB port to get the bluetooth feature.
I was Just looking out for cheaper lappy with good features and came acrsoo Compaq Presario.
Is Compaq Presario no good for loptops...
Sony vio is too too costly...
Any suggestion on Compaq Presario from anyone and personal experience...?

Why not try Acer? I develop software on mine - am running many memory hungry applications and a database - and it works fine try https://www.acernotebooks.co.uk/asp/default.asp - i bought the Acer Aspire 1524WLMi - and it is very good (so far at least!)
