Shelley - just to give you an idea about student visas - an article in today's West Australian (but this could happen anywhere in Australia) http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-...oys-expulsion/.

Look into the VETASSESS requirements for psychotherapy, as that might be the route to follow to get here - there's nothing to say that you work as a psychotherapist once you're here - but if you're good at it, you might find that you can earn a good living. You can also choose to do psychotherapy part-time and life coaching part-time, or whatever else works for you.

In your case, it may well be an advantage doing your training in the UK, as they are much more advanced in researching and using behaviour change strategies than Australia. You will have more choice of courses there, such as the OU ones, familiarity with UK life and your surroundings, rather than a huge upheaval to move here in the short-term. It is not worth risking your life savings for potentially little return, but you can work around that and set goals to work towards. Good luck and it would be great to hear how you get on.
