the thing to me, is that JLo is not even big : in my humble opinion, it's even "normal" on the scale of things in general.
You're right : it's the "flatness" that make some women look big. ("european" women?)
Latin American women tend to hang better, so can get away with bigger bums - the "duck's *rse" effect known to all blokes.
Where they seem to get it right, for what its worth, African women do tend to stray towards the negative big bum spectrum. Overkill.
European women let their guts/hips hang out, seriously low cut jeans etc (which is noteworthy of praise) but often their bums are so flat it lets them down on the rear view.

same here (my hubby obviously!!), but unfortunately my middle has expanded (3 babies in 2 pregnancies!) so I have no waist at the moment!!
