Family Tax Benefit and Fringe Benefits Tax for 2007/08
This is a bit complicated but I became PR in September 2008 after some 5 years here on temp visa.
Becoming PR made Family Tax Benefit accessible but I was under the belief that my income made me ineligbible.
I note on the FTB site that Fringe Benefits currently count as income as well as taxable income that has been subject to income tax.
My question is was this the case in the 2007/08 tax year? I was under the impression that the Labor Govt mades some changes on whether Fringe Benefits were included or not so want to see whetehr I WOULD have been eligible for FTB Part A in 2007/08.
If I was I may be due a part back payment and be eligible for the "back to school" bonus.
Any help or links on whether FRINGE BENEFITS counted as income for FAMILY TAX BENEFIT purposes for the 2007/08 tax year greatly appreciated.

Page 10 of this guide appears to indicate that family adjusted taxable income (ATI) includes "adjusted" fringe benefits (fringe benefits x 0.535)
