existing condition and medicare

I have a hearing problem which appears to be some type off middle ear problem like glue ear, I am seeing a specialist but i doubt it will be treated before i come to australia, will i be able to get treatment there if get the doctor give me his notes on the problem?
i am coming on a 136 visa which PR.

Hi,
We too are hopefully heading to Perth.
I think that as long as you dont have a condition such as diabetes-which can cost their medicare loads-minor things such as your problem with your ear-should be ok. There are medical advisors on this forum, as I had to ask a question a few months ago. Have a search through!!!

Assuming you meet the migration health criteria, Medicare does not care about pre-existing conditions. Australian health insurers might not cover you for it however.

the hearing problem only began after the visa was granted, but trying to your doctor to move quickly because your on a time limit for treatment here is not easy, as a result 3 months down the line and i finally get to see a british specialist, but with only a few months to go i doubt it will be treated here.
