Hi,

We too are hopefully heading to Perth.

I think that as long as you dont have a condition such as diabetes-which can cost their medicare loads-minor things such as your problem with your ear-should be ok. There are medical advisors on this forum, as I had to ask a question a few months ago. Have a search through!!!

Good Luck!!!!

You won't even need your notes from UK. Just tell the doctor when you see him/her what the problem is and they will treat as needed. I have a heart condition and my new doctor wasn't really interested in any of my past reports. Have you already got your visa?

Assuming you meet the migration health criteria, Medicare does not care about pre-existing conditions. Australian health insurers might not cover you for it however.

the hearing problem only began after the visa was granted, but trying to your doctor to move quickly because your on a time limit for treatment here is not easy, as a result 3 months down the line and i finally get to see a british specialist, but with only a few months to go i doubt it will be treated here.

Private health insurers generally have an exclusion period for pre-existing conditions. After you've served your exclusion (waiting) period, you're home and dry.
