Re: excess baggage info
I flew over with Malaysian last Sep. I was allowed through with just under 25kg no dramas. Before I flew, I phoned up to ask what the excess baggage charge was. It was 40 something pounds per kilo!! I went to the airport with the impression of, if they try and charge me any extra, I'm taking stuff out and wearing it or giving it to parents who saw me off to post over.

Re: excess baggage info
We flew to Brisbane last August and were 37kg over. Singapore Airlines tried charging us £31 per kilo excess.:frown:
We ended up flying the excess with the Excess Baggage company at Terminal 3 Heathrow. They charged us £245 total including insurance. It took 4 days to get there. We ended up coming back home at the end of November. This time we only had 20kg allowance each. But we had 170kg:eek: (Yes, you read that right!!!) excess baggage this time. We flew it back with Jetta Express (who Excess Baggage uses in Oz), for a total of £465. Great price for so much extra baggage. Julie. x |

You might just be ok... I just flew back with Malaysia, and though the tickets state that you can only take 20 kg, the guy I checked in with said they actually allow up to 25 kg, so if you have an extra 5 kg each, you may just about scrape through!
Definitely check first though, before you take the hearsay evidence of a random internet poster as gospel... S Mark |
