Excess Baggage Costs
#1

Does anyone know what Excess Baggage costs should look like, door to door?
I've got a quote for 2 tea chests and the proposed costs by air (1-2 weeks) are only 50% more than by sea (3 months). I know air is by weight and sea is by volume, but does this sound right?
Also it states it doesn't include quarantine clearance charge, anyone know how that should stack up?

Actually Keith Moon put me onto these people :
www.freedom-shipping.com that have an excellent quoting engine and my sister in law is using them.

We have just received 10 boxes sent via Excess Baggage UK by our son to us here in Hervey Bay. Not sure of cost but clearance was $96 + $55 to confiscate our daughter-in-laws silk flower bouquet which we were told had mold on it.

Thanks for those. But can air transit be only 50% more than sea? Seems too cheap to me...
