I'm reposting it because it is great. I would suggedt a "must read" particularly if you're a green Pom straight off the boat looking to buy a house.

Yep, I've been to one of his lectures. He's great. A real eye-opener (although I suppose it only proves what I always thought which was that 95% of real estate agents are sharks).

& going against my mainly highly critical posts re. estate agents, we are taking ours and his wife out to dinner next week as thanks for negotiating out land purchase!

Ninety-nine percent are bottom feeders: they may be pleasant (unless you live around Sydney) but they would usually prefer that you look at one house, write a cheque and then go away - and they make that very clear. But the one we used was pro-active (very unusaul here) and had to deal with a shall we say highly strung vendor. It took 6 months of careful handling!
