This whole thread is pretty funny. Find me one nation where there AREN'T people who think their country is the best. 
Just because a few of those types exist doesn't mean everyone's like that. Because guess what, those people exist EVERYWHERE. Even in Britain. I know when I visited London a few years ago people would give me shit for my accent and act superior to me purely because I was Australian. This isn't a problem that's relevant to Australia only and you Brits are not immune to such arrogance yourselves. The difference is some people are able to acknowledge that there will ALWAYS be rude individuals who are like that, and we don't judge entire countries on the behaviour of few people.
TBH when Aussies rib Brits it's usually in good nature. We presume you can take a joke. You can think it's arrogance but it's actually humour. I'm also reading a lot of hypocrisy in this thread. So it's cool for Brits to bitch about the Australian culture, but if Aussies do the same back to you guys they're xenophobic and arrogant? Please tell me I'm not the only one amused by this double standard!
I'm not a nationalist. Australia's far from perfect, in fact I'm aiming to move to the UK in a years time. But most of the whinging in this thread is retarded.

God you summed that up well.... Ive changed in my 30 years of being here to the Aussie style of thinking and doing things. I think I'm a much better person for it as well...... Compared to how I was personally before at least.

No it won't becasue it no longer has an empire its just a small resource poor island , while OZ it one of the wealthiest countries in the world in terms of natural resources and agriculture.
