Our mortgage has been completed today, all funds supposedly exchanged etc etc but upon checking our account the Bank have not debited the deposit for the mortgage
So how the hell has the completion gone thru' ?
Should i tell the bank that i still owe them 10's of thousands of pounds ??
I'm sure they'll catch up with me in the end
Lee...totally

If you are checking your account online - don't worry it's gone........
online banking in Australia is not live ( unless it's an online transaction), the CBA are attempting to put ALL transactions "live" this year, just had a message on my account to tell me this

Re: errrrrrr
That happened to me when I bought my place and the reason was because I was getting the FHOG, which doesn't go through until midnight on the day of settlement...and so the bank took what they needed before the FHOG went through, then the grant showed up and I was back where I should have been. So if you're getting the grant, that might be why? Hope you figure it out, I had a near apoplexy when I saw the balance of my account when I settled on my place!

Not true - BankWest for example posts all transactions where possible in real-time;if my wife takes $50 from the cash machine it shows up on-line and at the ATM immediately. It's the same if I move money around their accounts. If I pay for something via EFTPOS it's immediate.

You bought a house in Melbourne.
Congratulations - does this mean its charm is working on you or you are that fed up with renting?
