Default Engineering/Pipefitting work

Hi, this is my first posting, hopefully I'm doing it right!

My husband and I have been thinking of emigrating for a few years and with the arrival of our daughter 17 months ago we feel it would offer her a better life. I have been reading all the posts regarding work in Australia at the moment and whilst it appears to be predominately about the building industry as it is here I wondered if anyone was finding problems with work in the Engineering/Pipefitting line. My husband has a good job at the moment and we were thinking that it may be wise to ride out the recession here first then move. I would appreciate any comments. Thanks
